Kira sprinted, which was surprisingly fast for a student who spent most of his life in front of a computer, towards the dark green vinca bush. He reached the bush when a giant mass of black and green started getting up with quick agility. It was almost impossible to differentiate between the bush and the man but he didn’t worry about that the moment. His attention was drawn to the glint of black on the ground, the rifle. Sleeze still had it in his fingers but very loosely and glanced up to see Kira running as if he was doing a kick off in American Football. It boggled Sleeze’s mind until a split-second later when Kira’s kick off was a success and the rifle was sent flying at least 10 feet away, away from Sleeze’s dangerous hands.
Sleeze gasped. “What the fuck was that? He just kicked my gun.” The sniper rifle, though meant for long range only, could easily take out a teenage civilian. It was the only real weapon he had at the moment other than the knife he carried with him at all times. He now had drawn himself to his full height but didn’t have the time to draw the knife from his left breast pocket to slice Kira into tiny bits because Kira who had dashed back immediately after the kick. Kira then dashed again towards Sleeze reaching for the black handle protruding from his left pocket with his left hand. Sleeze was ready now for the sucker, “Who did he think he was? Does he really think running at me will allow him to beat me? What an idiot, watching too many movies.” Sleeze was ready this time, unlike the kick, and had his stance set up when Kira was 5 feet away. Kira was now in his range
Sleeze lunged at Kira, his hand outstretched, eager to strangle the kid watching his last breaths but his hands grasped air. He then realized what had happened. Kira had sidestepped the lunge but that would have thrown him to the ground…Kira, who was two feet diagonally left from Sleeze, lunged at him now with the black handle in his hand. The black handle was attached to a large regular household knife but it was warped and curvy. Sleeze couldn’t dodge or even parry the attack and the swish of the blade entering his chest was heard by both of them. A Kevlar jacket resisted the waved dagger but Kira turned his arm around the waved sides ripped through both the jacket and his flesh.
A scream was halfway through Sleeze’s throat but Kira immediately sensed it and elbowed his mouth before he could alert anyone of the struggle for life the two had just had. The elbow knocked Sleeze backward and all he could do was gasp because the wound was the most painful and damaging one he had ever had.
“A Kris…” Sleeze whispered, “A Kris, who would have thought” he reminiscence in aching pain. The Kris was one of the most outmatched mêlée weapons but the most damaging if you could manage to hit your opponent. The curviness allowed, when you stabbed the person, to literally shred their inside, which Kira had managed to do somewhat. He was too weak to rip through the Kevlar fully but he did do a lot of damage to him, “Who the fuck are you?” A normal kid shouldn’t know this like this…
Kira looked down. Sleeze saw that smile widen even more. During the whole battle, Kira had kept that smile on without falter. It wasn’t a grin nor was it a smirk but it had a manic glint that made Sleeze shudder mentally in fear. He had to take him down before anything happened. “How could this have happened? I’m a SEAL. I trained all my life and I’ve gone through the most intense training in the world but I was defeated by this stupid kid. How is this possible? Is this a dream?” No. The deep wound in his chest exerted more pain as to show Sleeze that he wasn’t dreaming. The pain was unbearable, much more excruciating than a normal blow, but he had to accomplish his goal. He had to kill the boy no matter what costs and the pain was only secondary to his mission. “Just one blow. I only need one blow to take him out,” he gathered himself and tried his best to calmly assess the situation. After that moment, he knew what he had to do and his mind was set. He had to protect those two no matter what…

He scrambled up before Kira could thrust the Kris into him any further and despite the pain he felt in his core, he grabbed onto Kira’s sleeve pulling so he would topple over him. That would have the Kris pushed deeper maybe even killing him but it was the only tactic he could use. From there holding Kira onto him, he would take the small knife in his side pocket and stab him in the back. The idiot wouldn’t die from it but he would probably feel the most pain he had ever felt in his life. Served him right, the stupid kid. As he pulled, Sleeze could see Kira’s face perfectly. It could have been the loss of blood but he almost saw in a split-second fear but the smirk returned and became even wider. Kira did fall as expected, but not where Sleeze wanted him to. Instead of falling on top of him, he fell over him and did something unexpected. Kira tumbled over but immediately gained his balance by using both his hand to hold Sleeze down. He first took out his left hand and grabbed hold of Sleeze’s face smashing it to the ground while his other hand reached into his pocket deftly retrieving another dagger but not a Kris which he stabbed into Sleeze’s naval area before falling over him. The pain doubled and Sleeze couldn’t think of anything. Not of how Kira had just outsmarted him again. Not of failing his mission. Not even by his wonderful wife or darling daughter. Only of the pain and the thought of death, which loomed over him so closely.
Kira got up and looked down. He was remotely surprised that the stupid SEAL wasn’t screaming in pain, as he would have liked, or maybe the pain was just too much for him to express. “Yes. A Kris. Filthy piece of trash.” He had warped the regular knife into a Kris by putting into his oven and moulding it in the morning in the kitchen. His plan didn’t go perfectly but when did it ever? He knew that the soldier would be wearing a vest but to think that he would have the strength to try a double edged tactic on him when he had stuck a freaking Kris up his chest. Determined. He knew that he wouldn’t stand a chance against him now because instead of attacking the chest area he noticed that the naval area was the weakest part of the jacket and would inflict most damage even with a regular dagger.
Kira stood triumphantly over Sleeze who was almost gasping for breath. He glanced at the rifle, which lay quite a distance away from them from Kira’s kick, and told him that he was a weapon’s freak from the heavily modified and customized rifle, which explained how he knew about his Kris.
I’ve wasted enough time here. I’ll be late for school.” Kira looked down at Sleeze pathetically again and turned walking briskly towards his school, casually-leaving Sleeze on the brink of death, clinging onto his life.
